One of my favorite holidays! I love watching all the old horror movies and learning about Halloween's history. But what I really love is creating art work that reminds me of Halloween. Challenging my imagination to create a photograph or painting the represents Halloween.

Here are some photographs and fluid art paintings that remind me of Halloween. The stories that could be told with these images.

Every year by invitation only visitors arrive to the annual Halloween Masquerade Ball held at Raven's Castle wearing 19th century attire. Raven's Castle has an evil history where there are many secrets and hidden tunnels. Stories of ghosts and dragons that haunt the castle. Some have seen a ghost of lady in a purple gown that was shredded by the breath of a dragon. Others have heard monstrous sounds within the castle's walls. Yet every year visitors attend this masquerade ball...why? Curious perhaps, but "curiosity killed a cat, satisfaction brought it back."

Would you be brave enough to go to this masquerade ball knowing the castle's history?

So I've been on vacation and during that time I had every intention on doing a lot of photo editing and preparing for my metallic collection. Well the collection is coming along nicely, but unfortunately I won't have it ready in time for my November launch. Why...it's called technology. Unfortunately my computer has decided that lightroom and photoshop upgrades were too much for it and decided it had enough. I was still able to use both programs but at a snails pace and it was taking far too long to process photos. So I decide it was time to upgrade and get a new computer. I will say this one has lasted just over 4 years, which I was hoping for another year, but no such luck. So I went to my favorite online shop (B&H Photo) and ordered my computer, but they were closed to observed the Succos Holiday. Which meant my order wouldn't be processed until Monday the 12th. Then I had to wait a week before it arrived which meant I've lost a week of production. I guess it could be worse. I love purchasing all of my camera and computer gear from B&H Photo. They are the best!! So it's worth the wait.

So while I am waiting for the computer to arrive, I spent several days downloading my files from my PC to external hard drives to be ready for transfer. Also been researching how to move my photos and presets to lightroom and photoshop.

I also when and got me some flowers and worked on some photo shoots. Right now I have over 700 images to review and I'll probably do a few more shoots before the computer arrives.

Once I'm satisfied with what I've gotten for photography then I will start painting again.

This is my first collection and I want it to be GREAT! So unfortunately the collection will take a bit longer than I anticipated and I know it will be well worth the wait!

Have a great week!

My art tells my story. You could learn a lot about a person through their art.

Every one of this images tells a story about me.

Looking at these images you could say that I like flowers, seashells, collecting old things, scary things, fishing, painting abstracts, bold colors, warm neutral tones, rustic, and antiques. With each photo I could tell a story of what or who inspired me to create each photograph. My inspiration for all my artwork comes from within me and my surroundings.

Take the photo of the fishing fly. My Dad was a avid fly fisherman and loved tying his own flies and the blue fluid art painting...instantly reminded my of the ocean which I love to visit and collect seashells and speaking of seashells what of the photo with the seashell and buoys. What about the skull? I love Halloween and I do have a vivid imagination which is how I came up with masquerade invitation and the stories that can be created with just that photograph. The old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" is true no matter what the picture or painting is. Someday maybe I will actually write a story about each photograph or fluid art painting. I have thought about it, but for now it's all about creating the photograph or fluid art painting.

Hey if you haven't already done so check out my October Giveaway!
